New Editor in Chief for J-STARS

March 26, 2020

Four people applied for the position of Editor in Chief (EiC) of J-STARS for a 3-year term starting Jan. 1, 2021. The reason to appoint the new EiC early is so that they can work with the present EiC to learn the procedures involved in being an EiC. This is particularly important now as we have converted J-STARS to an Open Access publication. There is every indication that this change has increased the submissions to the journal.

The new J-STARS EiC is Professor Jun Li of the School of Geography and Planning at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China. Prof. Li has been involved with GRSS for the past few years having been recently elected a member of the GRSS Adcom. She has served both as a guest editor and an associate editor for J-STARS. She has also published extensively in GRSS journals and has participated in GRSS conferences. She is an expert in image analysis (including hyperspectral and radar images), signal processing, supervised/semi-supervised learning, fusion, and active learning.
