IGARSS 2020 Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

 LAST UPDATED: 09 APRIL 2020 02:44 UTC

The 2020 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium is scheduled to be held as planned, July 19-24, 2020 in Waikoloa, Hawaii, USA. Of course, the safety and well-being of all conference participants is our top priority, and the situation is quickly evolving due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Organizing Committee is considering various options for IGARSS 2020 in case alternate arrangements need to be made to protect the health of our global community and hopes to make decisions by early May. We will provide updates as soon as any decisions are made. We suggest that you consider delaying making additional travel reservations at this time to avoid incurring non-refundable fees.

We will continue to monitor official travel advisories and update the IGARSS 2020 website to keep you informed. We will also continue to monitor advisories issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as work with our local venue partners to remain current on their preparedness and recommendations. We urge all travelers to keep informed and check for updated information on these sites:

World Health Organization’s COVID-19 website

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) website

Wishing you the best of health and good preparation for IGARSS 2020!
