Postdoctoral Research in Remote Sensing - interferometric SAR
Location: The Arctic University of Norway (UiT), Faculty of Engineering Science
and Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering, Narvik Campus.
Deadline: March 16, 2022
Overview:
The successful candidate will research how interferometric SAR (InSAR) can be used to track volumes of liquid bulk commodities in a port and how much is transported between ports. The hypothesis is that InSAR can be used to track the height / deformation of the on shore storage tanks as a function of filling degree. If this is possible, the goal is to use these changes to analyse how they change with the amount of shipping occurring.
Requirements:
Norwegian doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent international PhD within (In)Sar, remote sensing, applied physics, satellite technology or other relevant fields.
Must speak and write English
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and training in the following fields are desirable:
Interferometric SAR
Remote sensing
Programming skills in for instance Python
Mathematics
Physics
Machine learning
Digital signal processing
Norwegian language would be advantageous
