2025 GRSS Call for Self-Nominations for the GRSS Administrative Committee
The self-nomination period for the 2025 IEEE GRSS AdCom election is now open! If you’re interested in running for one of the open positions on the GRSS Administrative Committee (AdCom), now is the time to submit your nomination.

Important Dates:
- Nomination Period: 3 March to 13 April 2025 (6 weeks)
- Petition Support Period: 20 April to 1 June 2025 (6 weeks)
- Selection of Names in the Slate: 2 June to 22 June 2025 (3 weeks)
- Prep for IEEE Electronic & Paper Voting: 23 June to 3 August 2025 (6 weeks)
- Election by the Membership: 3 August to 12 October 2025 (10 weeks)
- Election Results Announced: November 2025
- New AdCom Term Begins: 1 January 2026
Nomination & Election Process:
Any GRSS member interested in serving on AdCom must submit a self-nomination through the GRSS website. This includes:
- A recent photo
- A brief biography
- A statement of commitment and vision for contributions to the Society
Members who complete the self-nomination may seek additional membership support during the Petition Support Period via a petition page on the GRSS website. A nominee with at least 2% of eligible member signatures (excluding undergraduate students) will be placed on the election slate.
The Nominations Committee will consider multiple factors when finalizing the slate, including:
- Membership support (petition signatures)
- Past or potential contributions to GRSS
- Geographic, gender, and sector diversity (academia, government, industry)
The final slate will be presented to GRSS members for a paper or electronic vote. All GRSS members are eligible to vote, except for undergraduate student members. Please note that graduate student members can vote. The top three candidates receiving the most votes will be elected.
The Administrative Committee will hold its Annual AdCom Meeting in November 2025 after the election results are announced. At this November AdCom meeting, elections will be conducted to fill the remaining three regular AdCom vacancies. All successful candidates will begin their terms on 1 January 2026.
The GRSS Administrative Committee (AdCom) consists of 18 elected members, each serving a three-year term with overlapping terms to ensure continuity.
