Uniting the Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Communities with Open-Source Competitions

Webinar Speaker: David Conran, Rochester Institute of Technology

David Conran

About the Webinar

This webinar will feature techniques and examples for simulating an imaging system design including common aberrations present in space-based satellites. Discussion topics will include: mathematical description of imaging systems, numerical recipes for accurate PSF/MTF estimates, image simulations with derived MTF and adaptation to more complex imaging system designs.

Speakers’ Bio

David Conran received a B.S. in Astrophysics and Astronomy from the Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Imaging Sciences at the Rochester Institute for Technology where his research focus involves spatial and radiometric assessment of remote imaging sensors using convex mirrors producing ground-based point sources. In partnership with Labsphere, this technology and research is being brought to the satellite/drone community for easy access to an ideal, stable calibration targets, both spatially and radiometrically.
