The Mikio Takagi Student Prize (MTStP) is to recognize a student who has presented an outstanding paper at the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS). The Mikio Takagi Student Prize is given to the first one of three top GRSS Student Prize Paper Awards. For second and third place student awards refer to IEEE GRSS Student Prize Paper Awards
The Prize recipient must:
The first author must be a student under 33 years of age.
The student must be in a degree program (PhD students included) at the time of submission of the IGARSS paper.
The student must be an IEEE member.
The student contribution should be more than 60% of the content of the presented paper (if the contribution is less than 60%, the paper is not suitable for a student paper competition and can be submitted to the normal track).
Each student can only submit one paper for consideration in the contest.
The student must be registered and attend IGARSS and present the paper.
The student is expected to be present at the IGARSS award ceremony to receive the award (if any).
The student will publish the paper in the IGARSS proceedings.
A 4 page, publish-ready paper formatted in 2-column format according to the paper kit;
a signed letter from a faculty advisor stating the student is a candidate for a degree; he/she is under 33; his/her contribution to the paper exceeds 60%; will personally present the paper (if accepted); will publish in the IGARSS Proceedings; will register and participate in the symposium; and can attend the Awards ceremony.
Proof of your student status.
Multiple eligible authors are allowed.
Eligibility and Selection process shall comply with procedures and regulation established in IEEE and Society governing documents, particularly with IEEE Policy 4.4 on Awards Limitations.
The student presenting an outstanding paper will receive a certificate and an honorarium of US$1000.
The availability of the Mikio Takagi Student Prize will be announced each year by the IGARSS Committee.

paper content and quality
innovation
originality
significance
quality of presentation
communication
methodology
experimental design
analysis of results
The scoring method shall be established by the Subcommittee.
The award shall be presented at an awards ceremony during IGARSS. The checks will be mailed after clarifying the tax items.
