ICST 2011

International Conference on Space Technology

From Event Website:
After the success of the first International Conference on Space Technology, which also resulted in a special issue on Space Technology of IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, the second event is going to happen almost two years later. The proliferation of micro-satellites has made space affordable and accessible to many people. Space technology, therefore, spans a broad area of research and development, from electronic components for satellites to intelligent systems for on-board data analysis. Most of the satellites face the Earth rather than the outer space. From home electricity meter readings to disaster monitoring, surveillance and crop forecast, satellites play a very important role now in our daily lives. It has also become increasingly evident that a lot has to be gained by considering the whole pipeline of sensors, data collection, data processing, conclusions drawing, actions taken, rather than try to solve individual problems in isolation. This series of conferences is designed to bring together people who work on different aspects of space technology research, in hope that the interactions along this chain of activity will be facilitated and enhanced.
