About the Speaker

Dr. Pamela Aor Ochungo is a dedicated geospatial scientist and researcher with nearly two decades of experience in applying GIS and remote sensing technologies to address real-world challenges. Currently a Lecturer in the Department of Survey and Spatial Science at the Technical University of Kenya, she holds a PhD in Conservation Ecology from Stellenbosch University, an MSc in Geographical Information Science, and a BSc in Surveying. Her diverse career includes over 15 years at renowned research institutions such as the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), where she led and collaborated on multidisciplinary projects focused on environmental sustainability, food safety, and disease mapping. Dr. Ochungo’s research integrates spatial data and socio-economic analysis to explore complex patterns in human and ecological systems. A published author in international journals, she is passionate about mentoring and inspiring the next generation of social scientists to harness the power of geospatial technologies.
