Call for Proposals – GRSS Chapter Industry Outreach
The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society is announcing the Chapter Industry Outreach (CIO) contest for Student Chapters and Young Professionals Chapters to design programs that engage with industry leaders and organizations within their region.
The aim of the CIO contest is to drive industry participation with the local chapter while fostering long-term relationships with IEEE organizational units in the respective regions. Up to 10 proposals would be selected and awarded a prize of $1,000 each to organize the proposed event and a chance to be featured in the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magazine.
How to participate
Submit a proposal of an industry event at your local student or young professional chapter on/before October 4, 2024. Chapters willing to participate in the contest should send their proposal using this starting document indicating:
- Event description [proposed], (200 words max)
- Desired outcome
- Type of event
- Partners
- Event execution period
Proposals should be sent to Rufai Balogun (rufaibalogun@ieee.org) on/before October 4th, 2024. Winning chapters will receive $1,000 dollars to execute their event ideas within the proposed execution period, which is expected to be between 2 to 6 months after the proposal selection. Selected ideas enter the best industry event contest, which will be decided upon based on the report submitted after the execution of events.
Selection criteria
The winning ideas would be selected based on creativity, engagement with industry partners, reach on social media, and consequent industry collaboration with IEEE organization units, and number of participants. Particular attention would be given to events that leverage the IEEE GRSS Distinguished Lecturers and Industry Speakers program.
