Call for Proposals: Chapter Industry Outreach
The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society is pleased to announce the second edition of the Chapter Industry Outreach (CIO) for Student and Young Professionals Chapters. The CIO aims to drive industry participation with the local chapter while fostering long-term relationships with IEEE organizational units in the respective areas. To participate, GRSS chapters are asked to design programs that engage with industry leaders, geoscience organizations, and other chapters within their region. Up to 10 proposals would be selected and awarded a prize up to $2,000 each to organize the proposed event, and a chance to be featured in the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magazine.

How to Participate
Submit a proposal for an industry event at your young professional or student chapter on/before January 30, 2026. Chapters willing to organize an industry event under GRSS Chapter Industry Outreach should send their proposal using this starting document, indicating:
- Event type and description
- Potential Industry Partners
- Event execution period
- Anticipated outcome
Proposals should be sent to Rufai Balogun (rufaibalogun@ieee.org) on/before January 30, 2026. Selected chapters will receive up to $2,000 to execute their event ideas within the proposed execution period, expected to be 3 to 6 months after the proposal selection.
Criteria
Proposals would be selected based on creativity, engagement with industry partners, event execution timeline, and potential to spark new collaborations with industry and other IEEE organizational units. Particular attention would be given to events that leverage the IEEE GRSS Distinguished Lecturers and Industry Speakers program.
