Social Media Ambassador (m/f/d) for IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS)
The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) seeks motivated, creative, and enthusiastic volunteers as Social Media Ambassador (SMA) to join their social media team. As a SMA, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Social Media strategy in order to increase our online presence. The terms of the new SMA will be two years, with the second year subject to review after the first year. and if desired extendable by up to three years. As a SMA, you will get an opportunity to attend the annual IGARSS conferences, financially covered by GRSS.
Job Description:
The duties of the SMA are to manage social media handles of GRSS, helping the social media team for posting/sharing the updates and to be in touch with other GRSS units (Technical Commitees, IDEA, eNewsletter editor etc.) when needed. You will be working under the Information Resources of IEEE-GRSS
Social Media Ambassador duties and responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy

Manage and oversee social media contents of IEEE GRSS

Stay up to date with latest social media practices

Be in communication with team lead and co-leader

Adhere to rules and regulations
Your profile

Be an active GRSS student member
-
Master or PhD student
-
Basic understanding and interest of remote sensing and geosciences

Some experience on social media (i.e. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)

Excellent multitasking skills

Good communication skills in English and ability to work in an international team

Scientific publications/presentations at international conferences and workshops (if any)
The selection process will be competitive. The major criteria evaluated will be demonstrated technical expertise in a field related to geoscience and remote sensing, history of professional service, demonstrated organizational competence, communication and social media skills, and previous involvement in GRSS activities. The finalists will go through a short interview before the final decision is made.

A letter of application showing your motivation and describing how to be involved (maximum 1 page) in GRSS social media team. The GRSS website should be utilized as a resource to make sure that the application is relevant to the GRSS mission in general.
Keep in mind: IEEE and GRSS memberships are required. You may apply for IEEE and GRSS membership at the time of the submission to be considered.
