“Best Local YP Activity” Chapter Challenge

“Best Local YP Activity” Chapter Challenge

The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Young Professionals are very pleased to announce a new challenge called “Best Local YP Activity of the Year” open to all IEEE GRSS chapters.

The goal of this challenge is to implement new initiatives, programs and activities at the local level, which are meant to engage the local Young Professionals community. The events or programs can be either technical or non-technical in nature.

We will offer funding to 20 GRSS chapters to organize a local activity directed to the fulfillment of one or more of the Young Professionals goals and objectives.

Then the best activity will be selected, and the winning chapter will get 1000 USD as a prize and a certificate of achievement.

How to participate?

Are your GRSS chapter eager to take on the challenge and receive funding to organize the best local YP activity of the year?

Then apply by December 4, 2022, by filling out this form with just:

  • a title
  • a short description (up to 100 words) of your planned YP event.

If selected, your chapter will receive at least 500 USD in 2022 and you will have time until June 2023 to host your YP activity.

A report should be submitted only after the event takes place.

The impact of the event will be determined by the number of attendees, the presence of any significant participants/speakers, partnerships or collaborations with other IEEE organizational units or Industry, and reach on social media (posts, amount of views and number of unique engagements). All information concerning these points must be included in the follow-up event report.
