IEEE GRSS Symposium Interactive Session Prize Paper Award

To recognize an exceptional paper posted and published in an Interactive Session of the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS).

Eligibility

To be eligible, it is required that:

  • Authors of papers posted in Interactive Sessions of IGARSS and published in the Proceedings of IGARSS.

 

Prize

$1,500 and Certificate. Single Annual Award with Multiple Recipients. If there are multiple authors, each will receive a certificate, and the honorarium will be equally shared among the co-authors. Award given once, annually.

Frequency

The award shall be presented annually. Award will be given only if a suitable awardee is identified.

Nominee Solicitation

The Technical Program Chair of IGARSS requests nominations from the Session Chairs, and these nominations are forwarded to the GRSS Symposium Awards Committee Chair. Self-nominations are not permitted.

The candidate papers are evaluated by considering the following factors: quality, originality, clarity, and timeliness of the contribution.

IGARSS Week

Award Nomination by session chairs.

September (after IGARSS)

Symposium Awards Committee receives a list of candidates from the IGARSS TPC.

October to December (before the new submissions of next IGARSS come in)

Symposium Awards Committee pre-screens, revise and selects the Winner.

March

Approval by the Voting Administrative Committee at the March AdCom meeting.

Late March

Award recipients are notified.

July/August

Announced publicly at IGARSS awards ceremony

Presentation

The awards will be presented at an award ceremony during IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, IGARSS, of the following year, together with other IEEE GRSS awards.
