The applicant will develop new methodologies and new applications to exploit opportunities offered by the latest radar remote sensing platforms within the ITC research and education domain. The methodological focus will be on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). You should collaborate on applications with an emphasis on the integration of radar with other sensing information, for instance optical and thermal information for earth sciences, food, water and the environment.
- A PhD in one of the following fields: Earth Science, Geography, Ecology, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Geo-informatics, Geodesy or Computer Science with relevant expertise in Geo-information and/or radar remote sensing.
- Demonstrated scientific creativity combined with a publishing record of acknowledged quality and a strong interest in developing cost effective solutions relevant to the large variety of problems in developing countries.
- Excellent command of English. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Dutch is an advantage.
