The position is supported for 1.5 years, from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
The research project will develop remote sensing and GIS algorithms to rapidly map geologic hazards for small communities in southern Peru, using a database of field-prepared hazard maps.
The successful applicant will have expertise in: SAR, multispectral, and optical remote sensing methods, GIS, geologic hazards mapping and analysis, and project management.
Fluency in Spanish is desired but not critical.
The project will necessitate travel to Peru, once COVID restrictions and risks have subsided.
