About the Speaker

Dr. Martin Mokroš is an expert in point cloud processing and data collection using terrestrial and mobile   laser scanning, photogrammetry, and   unmanned aerial vehicles. Currently, he is a researcher at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and Chair of the 3DForEcoTech COST Action project. He is also appointed as a principal investigator under ISPRS Scientific Initiatives 2019, a collaborative project of researchers from 16 institutions. He completed his Ph.D. in Forest Management from the Faculty of Forestry, Technical University Zvolen, Slovakia. He holds a master’s degree in geoinformation and Mapping Techniques for Forestry from the Faculty of Forestry, Technical University Zvolen, Slovakia.  He focuses on novel close-range technologies and their applications within forest inventory and ecology. He is leading a 3DForEcoTech COST Action project where together with colleagues from the field, are creating a network of scientists with the aim to standardize novel close-range technologies for research and practice within forest inventory and ecology. In this way, he wanted to bridge the gap between the ecological aspects and new technology.
