SPARK 2.0

About the Workshop

Eastern and Northeastern India is experiencing rising disaster risk. Multiple hazards interact to create compound disasters, leading to higher and cascading impacts than single events. The ultimate aim is to promote the adoption of Earth Observation data and expand community access to geospatial information for disaster risk reduction and resilience planning

The SPARK 2:0 promotes the use of free and open-source software, such as QCIS, along with open-domain geospatial datasets to map, analysis, and visualize compound disaster risk in the region. The SPARK 20 emphasizes translating Earth Observation based insights into knowledge that supports local planning preparedness and decision-making.
