About the Workshop

The IEEE GRSS West Africa Summer School on GeoAI and Intelligent Earth Systems for Climate Resilience is a multidisciplinary capacity-building programme designed to equip African students, early-career researchers, and professionals with practical skills in GeoAI, remote sensing, geospatial analytics, intelligent sensing, and artificial intelligence. Building on the GRSS West Africa Workshop, the hybrid programme will strengthen regional collaboration and expand participation across Africa. Through expert-led sessions and hands-on laboratories using real African datasets, participants will develop solutions for climate resilience, including flood and drought monitoring, land-use mapping, agricultural assessment, disaster early warning, and environmental monitoring, while supporting GRSS membership growth and chapter development across the continent.
