About the Speaker

Meet Dr. Mary Immaculate Neh Fru, a Research officer at the Center for Geological and Mining Research Garoua, a Registrar at the Universal Higher Institute of Management and Sciences (UNIHMAS), Cameroon. She is an achieving person with a high passion for geosciences, particularly in remote sensing, GIS and geochemistry specialties. She has a proven record of research excellence and is poised to soar for new and higher heights.

When Dr. Immaculate is not into research, she enjoys volunteering with activities that build capacity and encourage more youths to venture into STEM fields especially in the geosciences. Here she has done so many activities under different organizations like Assessing Geoscience Education in Africa (AGEEDAF) where she was a collaborator in the project, which led to the publication of peer reviewed journal articles. Also, she coordinates student activities at the African short courses organized by the Society of Geology Applied Mineral Deposits (SGA) in different African countries. She leads the Women in Africa (WiA) initiative under the IDEA committee of IEEE_Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society. Lastly, she is a member of High school and Undergraduate Student Outreach Programs (HSUSO) at the IEEE_Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society. Where she is supervising different remote sensing projects from this committee in different regions of the world.

With fierce determination to succeed, Immaculate aims to encourage more girls and women into geosciences, leveraging her geo-scientific prowess to innovate and make a meaningful impact.
