March 1, 2010 - March 4, 2010

Event Navigation

The 11th Specialist Meeting on Microwave Radiometry and Remote Sensing of the Environment will be held at the Hilton Embassy Row in Washington, DC.

The goal of MicroRad 2010 is to offer the microwave radiometry community an opportunity to share new research results, instrument designs, innovative techniques and technologies in the field of passive microwave remote sensing. Special attention will be devoted to applications to remote sensing of the environment, particularly land, ocean, atmosphere and cryosphere. The meeting attracts about 125 persons and typically consists of a serial sequence of oral and poster sessions. MicroRad 2010 will be straddled by the planned launch of two major microwave instruments, SMOS in late 2009 and Aquarius in the spring of 2010.

The proceedings of the meeting will be archived by IEEE in IEEE Explore, and plans are being made to publish selected, peer-reviewed papers in a special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing.

MicroRad 2010 is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and its Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS).
