About the Program
Mentorship is a transformative experience that benefits both mentees and mentors, fostering professional growth and personal development. The Women Mentoring Women (WMW) program, part of the IEEE GRSS IDEA initiative, connects people at all stages of their careers in geosciences and remote sensing. Through structured mentor-mentee relationships, participants establish valuable connections, gain career guidance, and support each other in professional and academic challenges.

How Does It Work?
The program follows a structured mentorship model to ensure meaningful and productive engagements between mentors and mentees:
- Matching Process: IEEE GRSS pairs mentors with mentees based on their career goals and expertise.
- One-on-One Meetings: Participants commit to at least one meeting per month, which can be virtual or in-person.
-
1-Year Commitment: Mentors and mentees agree to engage in the program for a minimum duration of one year to build a lasting connection.

Why Join?
The Women Mentoring Women initiative provides invaluable opportunities for career advancement, networking, and skill development:
- Professional Development: Mentors and mentees discuss career strategies, work-life balance, and academic growth.
- Conference Recognition: Mentorship pairs have the opportunity to be highlighted at IGARSS conferences, where they can share their experiences and insights (optional).
- Building Lasting Connections: Through meaningful mentorship, participants set goals, solve challenges, celebrate achievements, and forge long-term professional relationships.
