UAV remote sensing Postdoc position

UAV remote sensing Postdoc position

The focus of this postdoctoral position will be on the development and application of quantitative remote sensing and spatial analysis techniques to derive health indicators for Antarctic moss beds. A particular focus will be on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) carrying small sensors to capture ultra-high resolution spatial and spectral characteristics of the moss bed environment. The Research Associate will provide a significant contribution to this project through the development of novel techniques to acquire and analyse hyperspectral imagery collected in the field and from a UAV. In addition, the UAV will capture high resolution visible imagery, multispectral imagery, thermal imagery, and LiDAR data. Areas of specific interest within the project include fusion and analysis of imagery from these UAV-based sensors to quantify, map, and monitor the health and dynamics of Antarctic moss beds. Opportunities exist within the project for field work in Antarctica. More information can be found at: http://jobs.admin.utas.edu.au/positions/pd_detail.aspx?PositionId=1965

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Arko
