The successful candidate will conduct analysis of satellite imagery and create remote sensing products, reports, and papers for different stakeholder groups and university research projects. The project scientist will be expected to lead project design, proposal writing, and publication of project findings in peer-reviewed science journals. The project scientist is expected to play an important long-term role in the development of UCI’s new Center on Geospatial Data Solutions for Climate and the Environmen.
- A Ph.D. in geography, earth science, engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working with Landsat, Sentinel, or similar moderate or high-resolution satellite imagery
- Strong background in using scripting languages such as Python, Matlab, R, ArcGIS, or IDL
