New Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (J-STARS)

Decemebr 12, 2019

The Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) solicits applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for J-STARS whose term starts on Jan. 1, 2021. It is important that the new EiC works with the current EiC during the upcoming year, as J-STARS will transition from the IEEE standard hybrid subscription periodical to a fully open access journal starting Jan. 1, 2020. By working with the current EiC, the future EiC will be in a better position to successfully promote J-STARS as an Open Access title. As EiC after Jan. 1, 2021, the candidate will be responsible for the publication of all papers in J-STARS which are largely invited and contributed special topic volumes, all of which will be published in Open Access. The EiC’s initial term will be three years, which can then be renewed for an additional two years. The EiC of J-STARS is an ex officio member of the Administrative Committee (AdCom) of the GRSS.

Those interested in applying should contact Bill Emery, the Vice-President of Publications for GRSS (emery@colorado.edu) with a letter of application and a CV. The closing date for applications is 13 March 2020.
