2020 IEEE Radar Conference

June 25, 2020

In this time of virtual conferences, there is an option to attend, either virtually or in person, the IEEE Radar Conference in Florence, the week before the virtual IGARSS 2020 is scheduled. Have a look at the message below by the conference Chairs. This conference is technically co-sponsored by GRSS.

Dear prospective authors and attendees of the 2020 IEEE Radar Conference,

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the authors of the papers submitted to the RadarConf20 to be held in Florence this September. Despite all the problems and challenges induced by the diffusion of the COVID-19 pandemic, we received about 500 submissions. The review process is now completed and we are now structuring the technical program of the conference and the social events.

Since some of the constraints imposed by COVID-19 will likely remain in place in September, even if the situation has greatly improved and is expected to continue to do so in the next 2-3 months, RadarConf20 has been re-envisioned as a dual physical and virtual conference. We aim at getting the best of the two worlds, physical and virtual, while being very cognizant of the safety of our community. All authors and tutorial speakers will be asked to provide a recording of their presentations that will be used to create the virtual event. All authors who are subject to travel restrictions can then rely on enjoying the conference and the program virtually. The keynote speeches will be live streamed. We are taking all necessary precautions for social distancing, and all paper presentations held at the conference site will be at large meeting rooms. The physical technical program will run in parallel to the virtual event. Details of the physical and virtual technical programs will be available around the end of July.

This above setup is designed to allow virtual attendance in all the technical sessions of the conference (oral and poster presentations, plenaries, tutorials, demos, 3MT presentations, and sponsors exhibition) at the scheduled times. In an attempt to have a broad reach and participations with the final goal of bringing cutting-edge sessions to the radar community around the globe, we are pleased to announce that RadarConf20 is offering virtual attendance at very a low registration fee to attendees who are not presenters or covering a paper.

Looking forward to meeting you in Florence, physically or virtually.
