GEOSS Workshops
For a current list of workshops and more information regarding
the GEOSS workshops, visit the GEOSS Workshops page on the
ICEO website.
The IEEE, ISPRS, OGC and other participating organization and members of
GEO have sponsored a series of workshops entitled “The User and the
GEOSS Architecture” which began in July of 2005. Nine were held through the
end of 2006 with an additional nine planned for 2007.
These workshops continue to give
users and providers of Earth Observation Information an opportunity to
better understand GEOSS and its benefits for key societal impact areas.
In addition, the workshops provide a forum for users to make
recommendations for GEOSS implementation. As GEOSS has evolved including
the development in 2007 of a prototype operational capability, the
workshops are expanding to become a forum for engineering and
applications of the system of systems. The workshops are traditionally
one or two days and have no fees in order to encourage broad user participation.
However, to encourage discussion and interaction among participants,
attendance is usually limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration is requested for planning purposes.
